Lucy from the ‘And Yet…’ project shown at Arles, 2018

I was really proud to have my work featured with over 400 other female-identifying photographers at Cosmos Arles Books, during the Recontres des Arles this year.  The exhibition my work was included in was ‘The Family of No Man’, curated by Brad Feuerhelm and Natasha Christia.

Making reference to the famous Family of Man Edward Steichen exhibition in the 1950’s and in an attempt to provide a counterbalance to what’s been argued to be a male-dominated festival overall, the curators sought to show a world through non-male eyes, hence the restriction to female identifying submissions.

Natasha Caurana very kindly took some snaps for me when she visited the exhibition as I wasn’t able to go myself to see the work in situ.

If you’d like to find out more, Sean O’Hagan mentions the show in his review of Recontres d’Arles 2018 here and the exhibition has its own website.  My work can be found in the gallery of images around the theme of family.

Links to perinatal mental health information and support

My project about perinatal mental health, And Yet often leads to people talking to me about their own experiences, or expressing concern about a friend or family member experiencing their own difficulties.  Back in 2010, I did write a blog post about my own mental health experiences after having my daughter,  but creating and sharing this project has made it clear to me that I need a more comprehensive list.

This post aims to be a central place where I can add links to websites and general information.  Please do get in touch if you can think of anything I can add.
